- It is in many ways a boat that is better than it was when new that leaves the workshop in Hirtshals, says John W. Nilsen, general manager of FFS.

All machines have been overhauled and a lot of new equipment installed.

FFS Amaranth has received two new generators for the auxiliary engines and a new port generator. A new control and operation system for the propellers is in place. So is a new alarm system for machinery and equipment on board.

- ESPECIALLY we have had a new system installed where we can monitor diesel consumption from the bridge and on land. Thus, we can have a completely different control and awareness in this area. We take our sustainability goals seriously. And this is an important measure in that respect, says Nilsen.

FFS Amaranth is also painted in every way and edge – literally.

- THE VESSEL IS classified for five new years. In addition, we have splurged on a lot of extras, says Nilsen.

FFS Amaranth was built in 1997, measures 30 by 9.85 meters and has a gross tonnage of 360 and a pulling power of 53 tonnes.

Below you can see all the photos that Per Bonde, chef on board FFS Amaranth, has taken of the overhaul.
