When the dock arrived at the shipyard in the port city of Bijela in Montenegro, FFS Arion turned on the water cannons to the great excitement of the many spectators.

The consortium Adriatic 42 has bought the dock, which is used for maintenance and repairs of superyachts. The colossus is 180 meters long and 37 meters wide, and has a lifting capacity of 10,000 tons. It can thus handle the world's largest yachts.

FFS ARION HAR in recent months has been in shuttle traffic between Farsund and Turkey with seismic boats that are to be scrapped. After the last tow was made in June, the floating dock was picked up at the Turkish shipyard Hat-San and towed to Bijela.

Then the trip went to Arzew in Algeria, where the bulk carrier Adastar was waiting to be towed to Algeciras in Spain.

OUT OF THE MEDITERRANEAN and into the English Channel FFS Arion picked up a drifting cargo boat, which was towed into Rotterdam.

- That we get towing assignments both ways, is of course completely optimal. FFS Arion has been an important contribution to the FFS fleet. Due to the size and traction, the boat can take on jobs that the other FFS boats do not have the capacity for, says FFS manager John W. Nilsen.
