Raised Traffic Day to new heights

6. May 2022

- We travel a lot in traffic ourselves. Therefore, it feels meaningful and important to participate here and show that high speed can have major consequences.

With a crane from Lister Kranservice, the car is lifted up 40 meters, before it is released to the ground.

This is what Tony Kristiansen says, who manages the FFS company Lister Kranservice. Together with colleague Rune Køhn, he assisted Nullvisjonen in Lister at the annual Traffic Day, which is arranged for students at the upper secondary schools in Farsund and Lyngdal.

Over 300 young people were present in Lista Fly- og Næringspark. They saw Kristiansen hoist an end-of-life car 40 meters up in the air and drop it into the concrete.

CRASHED AGAINST the ground corresponds to a front-to-front collision at 75 km / h, according to Torstein Salvesen - leader of the Zero Vision in Lister.

He is brilliantly pleased to bring Lister Kranservice to the event.

Not only does the company make cranes, crane operators and crews available free of charge. The actual drop was also performed to 20 in style.

- WE NEVER HAVE made a car drop here at the airport, and as far as I understand, Lister Kranservice has never been involved in anything like this. That the implementation then happens so flawlessly is both fun and impressive, says Salvesen, who hopes to bring the FFS company to next year's event as well.

- We could of course show the school students a film, but it becomes something completely different when they themselves are present and see the car being smashed and the parts splashing. Then it makes a real impression, and the traffic safety effect is far better, says Salvesen.
