Ramform Victory is on her way out of Lundevågen in Farsund. A team from FFS has worked for almost three months to get the seismic vessel ready for new adventures.

PGS, which owns Ramform Victory, is very pleased.

- The collaboration with FFS works very well. They are always available and show up at short notice. Good expertise, good facilities and a good network of subcontractors ensure that we always receive the right service at right time, says Fleet Manager at PGS, Olaf Brunstad.

- FFS is an important contributor to us in PGS when we reactivate and lay up ships, and they take very good care of our ships, he adds.

BEFORE MOBILIZATION Ramform Victory had been in out of commision for a while. Farsund is the world's largest seismic harbour. Many of the boats take turns being out on missions. This means that they are mobilized at regular intervals to sail for a few months, and then return to the lay-up port.

- It was a fairly extensive hydraulic job. Discs and winches were overhauled, and the cylinders surface treated, says workshop manager Ronny Christoffersen.

FFS HAS management agreements with several of the shipping companies that have their boats in dock in Farsund and Lyngdal.

A large part of the management job is to keep the vessels ready to go out on a mission again.

- When the boats go out on a new job, they usually have to go through fairly extensive mechanical maintenance. Sometimes there are also other things on board that need to be upgraded and replaced. FFS performs everything needed in this process. What we don't do ourselves, we hire partners for, says Christoffersen.

THE MOBILIZATION WORK with Ramform Victory, which is 86.2 meters long and 39.6 meters wide, started at the beginning of November and lasted until the boat left Farsund on 26 January.

- For us, this has been a big and important job. Up to 12 men from FFS have been involved, says Christoffersen.

Ramform Victory is now at a shipyard in Denmark. There the ship will be repainted. Then it will then be equipped with new cables in Florø, before it sets course for the next mission.
