Heavy lifting for Lister Kranservice

There is hectic activity on the FFS quay. Four men are in full swing hoisting a 42-foot sailboat with the resounding name "Lyngdalsperla" on land.

- Now the boat must be washed and bottom lubricated. And then I will change the zinc, says the proud owner Arnika Trippler.

HE HAS A BOAT SEAT in Lyngdal, but at the marina there, the maximum lifting capacity of the crane is only eight tonnes. Thus he went to Lundevågen.

- Here at FFS, I get the boat onto a trailer, which is towed to the washing area. There is a high pressure washer with hot water. In addition, I can shelter from the cold spring wind. Awesome, comments Trippler, who is looking forward to four days of boat cleaning.

- I have asked several for help. But for some reason, all those I asked were busy this weekend, he smiles.

TWO DAYS previously, Tony Kristiansen himself was in action with the wreath packages at Asco further into Lundevågen. Offshore equipment packed in heavy wooden boxes had arrived by cargo boat. Now they had to be lifted from the trailer onto large flatbed trailers - so that they can be maneuvered around more easily.

- This is a typical job for us at Lister Kranservice, says Kristiansen.

In addition to Asco, Alcoa and the many shipping companies that have ships in storage in Lundevågen are major customers. On Alcoa, the second crane is often used. It can lift 30 tons, but has crab control and is easier to maneuver.

- WE ALSO HAVE a number of assignments for Pump Module, which is owned by Einar Øgrey Farsund. It also happens that Lista Bygg hires us to lift larger floor separators in place, says Kristiansen.

Lister Kranservice originally had two owners, but has now been taken over completely by FFS. The company hires all staff of FFS, and also works closely with its owner on other operations and maintenance. FFS is also the largest customer.

- It happens that we have assignments outside the region. But our primary market is Farsund and Lyngdal, says Kristiansen.
