- The ship had run aground during the actual approach to Nakskov. FFS Athos got the job of pulling it loose, says John W. Nilsen, general manager of FFS.

It was Monday afternoon that the grounding occurred. Peak Skorpo, which is 95 meters long and built in 1999, was on its way into the fjord with shingle in the hold when the accident happened.

FFS Athos, who is on another mission in Vordringborg - not far away - was requisitioned.

After divers had first been down and checked the hull, Peak Skorpo was given the go-ahead by the Danish defense on Tuesday afternoon that it could be towed to safety.

The ship is now in port in Nakskov harbour. There, it will be examined further by crew from the environmental ship Marie Miljø before it is allowed to sail on.
